Free and Not So Free

Ok, here is a not-so-needed list of other things we could do on the island while visiting. This is basically here because I felt the need to have more posts. I have no shame.

  • Surfing - I have a board (albeit a cheap one) so we can hang loose wherever.
  • Boogie-boarding - for those less inclined to making a fool of themselves on the surfboard
  • Spear-fishing - For the real budgeteer, catch your own dinner!
  • Snorkeling - you can do this just about anywhere
  • Biking
  • Cookout on the beach

Some not-so-free things to do:

  • Parasailing - on a clear day, it is pretty damn cool. You can see fish swimming from 900 ft up. You are going to spend around $55 for 11 minutes in the air.
  • Hang Gliding - I have always thought that this would be cool, especially here, but the thought of running off a cliff is still too freaky for me. You're welcome to try, though. Around $115 for 30 minutes.
  • ATV Tours - through Kualoa Ranch $47.
  • Horseback riding - around $75
  • Snorkel/Whale watching tour - usually around 4 -6 hours long, there is the activity, lunch, and then happy hour during the sight-seeing trip back to harbor. Around $100 pp.
  • Rent Jet Skis - best on the North Shore - $35 for 30 minutes.
  • Deep Sea Fishing - anywhere from $150 - $500.
  • Helicopters - $185 per hour. I found this to be boring. Especially on Oahu.
  • Kayaking - $40 for 1/2 day. Up on the North Shore Surf N' Sea has clear kayaks so you can watch fish while paddling.
